Fiera Capital Corp. Q3-2021 Earnings, Price Target Update

Fiera Capital Corp. (FSZ, FSZ.DB) is an independent global asset management firm with $180.8B of assets under management as at Sept-30-2021. Revenues consist of management and performance fees based on Assets Under management. Fiera Capital's clients are grouped as follows: institutional clients (52% of AUM), retail clients (40% of AUM) and private wealth clients (8% of AUM). The AUM asset allocation is comprised of fixed income - 41%, equity-51% and alternative assets -9%. Management fees are based on assets under management. They provide customized multi-asset solutions across traditional and alternative asset classes to institutional, retail and private wealth clients across North America, Europe and key markets in Asia. In addition to managing clients' accounts on a segregated basis, Fiera Capital manages several investment funds. These Funds consist of open-ended and closed-ended investment companies, alternative mutual funds, limited partnerships and other pooled funds which invest in a range of asset classes. In addition to traditional investment strategies, Fiera Capital offers its clients alternative investment strategies spanning a range of sectors and industries, including infrastructure, agriculture, real estate, private equity assets, private real estate financing and short-term business financing.

There are two classes of shares, Class A Subordinate Voting Shares and the Class B Special Voting Shares that are equal in rights except for voting. Class A shares, which are listing on the TSX have the right to elect just one third of directors but comprise 80% of ownership. As of Sept-30-2021 there were 85.4M Class A Shares and 19.4M Class B Special Voting Shares for a total of 104.8M shares compared to 81.3M and 19.4M at Dec-31-2019. Annual share repurchases are 3-5% of the total Class A shares.
